Event Update: Bohemian Crunch, another epic craft fair.

Event Update:

This is it guys! As promised, here’s a quick update or must I say a visual treat for y’all. The Bohemian Crunch’2017, and oh my! What a dose of colors and positivity!

This is that one-stop shopping event of the year where everything is exclusively crafted with heart and soul. Every year, the craftpreneurs of Karachi gather to celebrate art and passion. Every year, these craftpreneurs endorses that Happiness is handmade and we couldn’t agree more, folks! 

The event was organized at the eminent, Royal Rodale Club and like always was jam-packed.
On this platform, you get everything. From sweet to savoury, from shoes to clothing, skin care to bath salt, so it’s safe to say that we boarded the right train, guys! 😉

We love how Crafter’s Guild so far have been managing these events and leaving no stone unturned in honoring each and every piece of heart that these crafters put in whilst designing and executing their work.

We, as citizens, let’s do our part and support, promote and propagate the efforts and the creative streak of our Pakistani crafting fraternity. After all, they are our pride, our crown! It is highly commendable how these crafters manage to add the flair of vibrancy and a fresh surge of air amidst the chaotic happenings of the city.

The Bohemian Crunch was truly a beautiful escape!

And we can’t wait to have more…

Meanwhile, let’s relive the moment. Hit that video, peeps and please subscribe to our Youtube Channel ❤

Until next time,

Love and Glitters.

======================================================================================

We all go shopping once in a while and get a number of gifts every now and then, but you all will agree with me that the hand-embroidered dress you bought is the one you always keep for the very special occasion, or the best time of the day is when you are taking long showers with your favourite lavender handmade soap and that the pillow you cant sleep without, have the prettiest customised cover telling you that you are someone’s best friend each night.

This is the magic of everything handmade, It keeps reminding you that you are being loved and cared for.  And that there are sensitive crafty people out there who knows how to make you or someone you love, feel special.

Every year Firefly and The Crafter Guild celebrates the craftsmanship of these amazing people by bring them all on one platform through a series of colourful craft shows.

One of the craft show of this series is “Bohemian Crunch” which takes place every year marking the start of spring. This time its happening on 5th March’ 2017 at Royale Rodale Club.

If you have not attended any of these craft shows before and are unsure of what to expect, have a look at our vlog on the 2016’s biggest craft show “The Crafters Expo’ 16”

Here is what Varah Mussavir, the firefly behind these amazing craft shows have to say about this show:

The spring edition of the craft fair series by The Crafter’s Guild and Firefly takes flight on the 5th of March. Over 60 participants, 40% of them being new to the community are showcasing their best of handmade work.

Til five years ago, the country only associated handmade work with the indigenous crafts from across rural areas of Pakistan. While these handicrafts are an asset and livelihood for thousands of artisans, the craft community has evolved and the urban craft scene has become increasingly popular. With three shows annually, The Crafter’s Guild has successfully connected young entrepreneurs, independent artists and craft enthusiasts to not only display their best of work, but held extensive mentoring and motivational sessions to encourage ‘Happiness Is Handmade’.

All participants come forth with a story, why they decided to pursue their craft or why they currently choose to channel their thought processes through creative mediums is an integral part of their journey. Some stories are enlightening and heartwarming, others are outright inspiring and encouraging. The variety of crafts and the finesse of work is a great milestone for the local community as it puts an impactful image (a positive one) for Pakistan.

These craft shows have been bringing together families, instilling a sense of community and ownership, as well as harnessing creative growth for youth. A lot of young women and homemakers channel their creative energies through these events. The craft shows have also been a growing platform for art students or designers to showcase their own line of projects and handmade work. The shows grow every year in terms of audience and impact.

This year, Bohemian Crunch welcomes its Guild Award recipients from The Crafter’s Expo 2016, including Hunar Paray and Pebbles. Firefly brings out its newest designs for gift and stationery while Food for your Face debuts further product launches to celebrate its first successful year.

Other stalls to look out for are the amazing Lady Marmalade, La Vie En Rose by Shafia, Zed Mars, Artel by Bina Ali, Uzma Javeri Silver Jewelry, Foroohar, Queen of Tarts, Beads Desired, Busy Li’l Hands, Ghazal Pirzada Creative Studios and Namoonay. Another exciting edition of Bohemian Crunch is the series of works displayed under Mera Hunar Meri Pehchan in association with the Aga Khan Economic Planning and Development Board. Crafts will be showcased by members of the program including individuals with special needs.

Looking forward to a creative affair on the 5th of March, 2017 at the Royal Rodale between 12 and 8 pm with Bohemian Crunch, another Epic Craft Fair!

This Sunday do take some time out and visit this amazing colourful event. Trust me you will start believing in “Happiness is Handmade”
